COCHRAN, Mr. Barry R.
Plainwell, MI Died peacefully at his home early Friday morning May 23, 2014. Barry was born September 12, 1952 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Jim and Annabel Boone Cochran. He was a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and retired from Maple Hill Auto Group in November 2013 after 24 years. Barry was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church. He was an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors, and kept and cared for many animals pets over the years. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marcia J. Herrema Cochran. Also surviving are four children, Jeremy Casey Cochran of Cooper Township, Stephanie Jim Koops of Grand Rapids, Carrie Chris Dattels of Zeeland, Ryan Cochran of Cooper Township and nine grandchildren; his sister, Cheri Newton of Michigan; his brother's wife and Marcia's sister, Elaine Cochran of Allegan; in-laws Carol and Ted Peters, Betsy and Dave VanDokkenburg, Paul and Mary Herrema; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Scott Cochran. Services will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday at Second Christian Reformed Church, 3015 Nichols Rd. Visitation will be 4-8pm Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Private interment will be in West Cooper Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Kalamazoo Christian Schools or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
