Portage, MI Passed away peacefully Thursday evening September 3, 2009. Barbara was born December 2, 1925 in Benton Harbor, Michigan a daughter of LaRue and Helen Babcock Woodward. Barbara graduated from Kalamazoo Central in 1944 and retired from Sears after 31 years as a sales associate. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling to national tournaments with her team and friends, her fondest memories of the events held in Reno and Las Vegas. Barbara enjoyed watching grandchildren and neighbors play in her pool on summer days. She was also a member of the Portage Moose Lodge #88. Barbara will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joyce Fransico; and a brother, George Woodward. On July 3, 1946, she was united in marriage to Duane B. Tibbs who survives. Also surviving, 2 sons, Randy Cheryl Tibbs of Kalamazoo and Danny Tibbs of Portage; 2 grandchildren, Danna Tibbs of Petoskey, MI and Dustin Tibbs of Charleston, SC; a special friend, Tommi Borsini of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
