TAYLOR, Barbara J.
of Schoolcraft Barb passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 25, 2011 at her home. She was born August 24, 1930 in Grosse Pointe, MI, the daughter of the late Luther and Florence Renaud Carter. On September 15, 1951, she was united in marriage to Roy Taylor, who preceded her in death on July 2, 2004. Barb was employed by J.C. Penney Department Store in Portage for over 15 years. She was a member of Schoolcraft United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, American Legion Ladies Aux. #475, and active in the Women's Club in Pigeon. Surviving are her 4 children, Anne Michael O'Donnell of Romeo, John Carrie Taylor of Paw Paw, Kate Taylor of Schoolcraft, and Martha John Nutt of Kalamazoo; 7 grandchildren; 9 ½ great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Mary Carter of Grosse Pointe Woods; two sisters, Nancy Larry Beaupre of SC, and Susan Ken McCormack of Clarkston; three sisters-in-law, Marilyn Cunningham of Lawton, Barbara Roger Dehn of South Haven and Carol Ron Beck Hutchinson of Lawton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Barb will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel 411 E. Centre Ave., with Pastor Karen Wheat officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 5-8 PM and on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center or Schoolcraft Community Library.
