Kalamazoo, MI Died Thursday morning November 8, 2007. Barbara was born August 29, 1926 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Elton and Dorothea Ward VanPatten. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Kalamazoo Paper Box Company for 27 years before retiring. She was also a member of Comstock Ladies Auxiliary #6252. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Joseph Brown on March 14, 1991; a son, Joseph Brown, Jr.; a sister, Donna Teutsch; and a brother, Kenneth VanPatten. She is survived by 2 children, Thomas Brenda Brown of Huntington, IN, and BethAnne Tanksley of Augusta; daughters-in-law, Cynthia Brown of Portage and Cheryl Vorick of Texas; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Saturday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway with a Comstock VFW #6252 Ladies Auxiliary Service at 7:00.
