Of Kalamazoo Died March 11, 2013 at the age of 84. She was born February 22, 1929 in Hibbing, MN to the late Richard and Katherine Kiefer Whitney. Barb's lifetime of medical struggles have shown why she was known as "a lifetime of strength". Barbara leaves behind her son, Tim Emily Goldsberry of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren, Alex, Collin and Kayla; brother, John Elsa Whitney; and many nieces and nephews. Barb is also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Whitney. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 5-7pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. A private entombment will be at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of SW Michigan.
