of Portage Passed away March 23, 2012 in Portage. She was born March 4, 1932 in Bronson, MI to the late Charles and Orlean Vincent Washburn. She was united in marriage to Frederick Dwire on April 23, 1950 who preceded her in death in February of 1999. Surviving Barbara are her daughter, Rose Marie Arthur Berger of Kalamazoo; several grandchildren; very many great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; brother, Duane Betty Washburn; daughter-in-law, Karen Dwire; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding Barbara in deather were her son, Carl Dwire; brothers Leroy, Richard and Charles Washburn; and sister Patricia Washburn. Services will take place Friday, March 30th, 12:00 noon at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave., where family will greet friends from 11:00-12:00 just prior to the services. Burial will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South, immediately following the service. Memorials in Barbara's name may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center.
