Kalamazoo, MI Died Thursday afternoon November 26, 2009 at her residence. Barbara was born September 29, 1925 in Kalamazoo, MI, a daughter of Clare and Bess Fulcher Sisson. She grew up in Kalamazoo and received a B.A. from the University of Michigan. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident again for the past 20 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kalamazoo. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. On June 11, 1949 she married Thomas I. Dolan who survives. They lived in Greenville, MI for over 30 years, where she was an active community volunteer. She was named "Mrs. Michigan" in 1957 and participated in the opening of the Mackinaw Bridge, as well as in its' 50th year celebration. They also lived in Cleveland, OH and Milwaukee, WI. Also surviving, 2 daughters, Sarah D.R. Golding of Gun Lake and Nancy Douglas Schrank of Saugatuck; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Joanne Sisson of Three Rivers, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Private services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo.
