Of Kalamazoo, Michigan Arvids K. Barzdelis born June 3, 1914, in Latvia, passed away quietly on January 2, 2009. He and his wife Anna who died in 1998 arrived in Kalamazoo in 1951 where he worked for the Sisters of St. Joseph at Nazareth for over 30 years until his retirement. He was an active member of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Kalamazoo and the Kalamazoo Latvian Association. Surviving are three nieces and their families. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6 from 12-1 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street where a Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM Tuesday with Rev. Biruta Puike officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Kalamazoo or Kalamazoo Latvian Association.
