HEYSTEK, Arthur Richard
of Mattawan Arthur R. Heystek passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Art was born in Kalkaska, Michigan on January 10, 1936, the only son of Nelson and Elorise Heystek. He attended Kalamazoo Central High School. Art served 2 years in the United States Army. He returned home and continued the family legacy running Heystek and Sons Asphalt Paving Company until his retirement in 2004.
Art married Sally Stevens on May 31, 1958. The two had three sons. They divorced in 1986. Art married Virginia Ginny Saidla on February 14, 1991.
In addition to his wife Ginny, Arthur is survived by his four sons, Steven Judi Dean Heystek, Scott Eva Heystek, Daniel Heidi Heystek, and Derek Niccole Saidla; grandchildren Benjamin Elizabeth, Joshua
Alyssa, Nickolas Bethany, Jason, Christofer, Douglas, Samantha, Zackary, Ashley, Ryan, Lauryn, Aiden, Brandon, Ashley, Derek, Rhett, Kati, Cara; and great-grandchildren Cameron, Hannah, and Hunter.
A family graveside service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
The memorial service will be held at 11:30am at Calvary Bible Church, 855 S. Drake Rd., Kalamazoo, Michigan on November 1st, 2011; ALL ARE WELCOME.
Donations can be submitted to West Michigan Cancer Center, Hospice of Southwest Michigan or charity of your choice.
