PIERCE, Arlene
of Kalamazoo Passed away February 8, 2009 at Kairos Dwelling. She was born November 8, 1926 in Mattawan to the late Hubert E. and Adabelle Cray Ellard. She was united in marriage on September 16, 1944 to Russell Pierce, who preceded her in death in June of 1981. Arlene loved her family first and foremost, especially her grand and great grandchildren, but among her other many interests include, gardening, bowling, walking, traveling and dining out. Surviving Arlene are her children, Tina Richard Peck of Galesburg, Frances Floyd Jarvis of Galesburg, and Terry Shelly Pierce of Columbus, OH; 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Reger; brother, Harold Mary Ellard; several nieces and nephews. Also preceding her in death were, brothers, Veral and Clarence; sisters, Pearl, Reva, Jackie, Lola and Helen. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 6-8:00pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where funeral services will take place on Thursday at 1:00pm, Rev James Dyke, officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo.
