Annetta Ruth VanderKlok

Annetta Ruth VanderKlok, age 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 31, 2024. She was born July 6, 1938, at home in Portage, Michigan, to the late Koert and Jessie (Penning) Kuiper, the middle child of seven kids.

Annetta graduated from Portage Central High School. Growing up, she helped in various ways at her dad’s business, Kuiper Service Station. She held many other jobs through the years: as a teller at Industrial State Bank, bookkeeping and other administrative duties at VanderKlok Trucking, and as bookkeeper for Longjohn’s Flower Shop. Annetta recently attended North Park Reformed Church. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Mackinaw City. Annetta cherished her family, and her gift was caring for those around her.

Annetta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley R. VanderKlok; brother, Kenneth Kuiper; and numerous in-laws.

She is survived by her two children: Mike (Nancy) VanderKlok and Marsha (Lloyd, Jr.) Miller; grandchildren: Mark (Morgan) VanderKlok, Alicia (Drew) Kiewiet, Amy (Tyler) Hoopes, Sam Miller and Koertney Miller; great-grandchildren: Hudson and Hayden VanderKlok, Cooper and Noel Kiewiet, and Tyce and Jennings Hoopes; siblings: Clarence Kuiper, Dorothy Allen, Jane Newhouse, Betty Vlietstra, and Jim Kuiper; as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00am at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where visitation will be one hour prior from 10:00-11:00am. A light luncheon will immediately follow. Private interment will be at Hope Cemetery in Texas Township.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Provision Assisted Living and Centrica Care Navigators for the wonderful care they provided.
