Of Scotts Anne passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007. She was born January 25, 1925 in Utica, New York, the daughter of Allen and Margaret Gallagher Webb. Anne received her Bachelor?s degree from Miami of Ohio and her Master?s degree from Western Michigan University. She was a 5th grade school teacher for many years at Tobey Elementary School. On December 22, 1945, she was united in marriage to Robert F. Carper for 54 years prior to his death on June 18, 2000. She joined him to celebrate their anniversary together. Surviving are two daughters and a son; Joyce Frank Burgener of St. Joseph, MI, Nancy Kamal Berrada of Chicago, IL and Robert Bethany Carper of Mattawan; five grandchildren, Christine, Lori, Mark, Sophia, and Andrea. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-7pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. A private family graveside service will be held next to her husband in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anne?s memory may be directed to the Salvation Army. 343-1508 www.langelands.com
