YOUNGBLOOD, Anna "Ann"
of Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Rose Arbor Hospice. She was born September 6, 1927 in Portage, a daughter of Henry and Anna Sportel Kuiper. Ann was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo and had worked at the Fairmont Hospital and WMU. She loved cooking, fishing trips and watching the birds at her window, but her greatest enjoyment came from her family. On June 25, 1948, she married Gerald H. Youngblood, who survives. Also surviving are their daughters, Frances "Fran" Chris Spitler of Kalamazoo and Marsha Terry Williams of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Chad Spitler and Sarah Spitler both of CA., Aaron JoLinda Williams of Portage and Eric Williams of Chicago; four great-grandchildren, Madison & Cameron Jan and Haley & Tyler Williams; a brother, Jerry Kuiper; a sister, Harriett DeYoung; many nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and 5 sisters. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with Minister Scott Burdick, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 12:00 Noon until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Rose Arbor Hospice.
