LONG, Anna Wallus
Kalamazoo, MI Died on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, she was born in Chicago, IL on June 18, 1921. Anna was a homemaker and mother of seven. She was known for her excellent cooking and baking, especially her delicious pies. Anna had many hobbies including crocheting, working jigsaw puzzles, gardening and dancing. She enjoyed walking each morning at the Crossroads Mall where she made many friends. Anna had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Theodore Long of W. Burlington Iowa; her brother, Dr. Peter Wallus and her sisters, Olga Wallus and Helen Neal. Anna is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Wallus Niemi and her husband Dr. Leo Niemi; her children, Kathy of East Lansing, Carol John Lutz of Warsaw, IN, Betty of Barryton, MI, and Dan and John both of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Anna's life at a later date. There will be no visitation. Anna survived Breast cancer for over 50 years and helped many women who were newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Anna can make it to the Susan G.
