Kalamazoo With her beloved husband and family by her side, Ann passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 30, 2007 and went to be with her Lord and Savior. Ann was born July 9, 1936 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Cornelius and Martha Napp Bussema and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. As an active member of Haven Church, Ann was involved in the Kitchen Ministry, Annual Church Bazaar, nursery volunteer, and for the past 11 years, she and her husband, Don, served as volunteer custodians for the church. She retired from the Plainwell Public Schools after many years of service. Ann was active in the American Cancer Society?s Discovery Shop and served on the board for many years. She served as President of the Cooper Elementary PTA and a 4-H leader when her children were in school. Ann?s life was devoted to her church, her husband, children and grandchildren and her dedication to serving others. On August 30, 1957, Ann married Donald Paulsen, who survives. Ann is survived by their children, Donna Richard Kersey of FL, Sue Steve Weber of Kalamazoo and Nancy Jeffery Burr of Martin; 7 grandchildren, Erin & Ethan Kersey, Sarah fiancée Hank Overway, Scott & Shelley Weber, David & Gregory Burr; three brothers, Carl Bussema, John Sylvia Bussema and Bill Marlene Bussema all of Kalamazoo; a sister, Jo Henry Knapper of Kalamazoo; many nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters-in-law, Lois and Eleanor Bussema. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 AM in Haven Church, 5350 N. Sprinkle Rd. with Pastor John Sparks officiating. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. on Thursday from 2-4:30 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop or the Haven Church Memorial Fund. www.langelands.com 343-1508
