Anna C. of Mishawaka, IN Died December 19, 2011 in Mishawaka, IN. Anna was born June 8, 1915 in Kalamazoo, MI. a daughter of Christian and Anna Zylstra VanLoo and had lived in Kalamazoo for most of her life. Along with her husband Herman Youngblood, she owned and operated Fern's Restaurant in White Pigeon during the 60's. Anna loved her involvement at Fourth Reformed Church where she was a member until 1980. She is currently a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage. Anna was a loving grandma to her 3 grandchildren in South Bend. One of her biggest enjoyments in life was her trip to Holland, The Netherlands to visit where her parents were born. Anna's first husband Herman Youngblood passed away in 1963 and 15 years later, she met her other love and married Alfred Myers, who passed away in 1999. Anna was also preceded in death by a brother Dick VanLoo and by 3 sisters, Cornelia Kenny, Christina Kruizenga and Hilda VandenBosch. Surviving are a daughter Maureen Youngblood-Kaufman of South Bend; a step-daughter Shirley Thompson of Plainwell and her sons Ronald and Duane; 3 grandchildren, Denise of Scottville, MI, Chris and Michael, both of South Bend; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister Jacoba Peters of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with the Rev. Mark Gieschen officiating. Friends may meet the family beginning at 12 Noon Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow services in the chapel at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Memorial contributions in Anna's memory may be made to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
