Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010. She was born January 7, 1926 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Perley and Louise Miller Holdship and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. Ann was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Kalamazoo, where she served for 44 years as the head of the Altar Guild. On July 26, 1945, she married William J. Larsen. While Bill was stationed in Quantico, VA, he had proposed to Ann over the telephone, and when she accepted, he came home on a 30 day leave to get married. Two days after the wedding, Bill's leave was canceled, and he left for California, but that union lasted almost 65 years. Ann is survived by her husband, Bill; their daughter, Barbara Paul Adams of Kalamazoo; a granddaughter, Christina Adams of Kalamazoo; a brother, Thomas Barbara Holdship of Kalamazoo; two nieces, Suzy Squires and Molly Brawley; and a special cousin, Betty Kik. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 AM in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 247 W. Lovell St., with The Rev. Fr. Jay Lawlor officiating.
