Angeline Ann Ponzini passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the age of 72. She was born in Eureka, CA on March 30, 1951, to the late Francis W. Wilbur and Rose M. (Tomas) Wilbur.
Angie received her Associate Degree in early childhood development and worked many years as a paraprofessional with the Battle Creek Intermediate School District. She also fostered animals for many years for the Calhoun County Humane Society and worked in guest relations for the Kalamazoo Wings.
Angie was united in marriage to John Ponzini in Otsego, MI on February 5, 1971, and he survives her. She was active in her community, especially the Westwood Neighborhood Association, served on several committees for Kalamazoo Township, and could have a conversation with anyone. Angie enjoyed going out on their boat, garage sales, and shopping of any kind. Her grandkids were the light of her life and she greatly enjoyed spending time with them.
Angie is survived by her loving husband, John; two children, Michael (Jessica) Ponzini, and Jennifer (Adrian) Strebs; five grandchildren, Jude, Olive, and Meadow Strebs, Brendan and Kaleb Ponzini; sister, Mary (Marshall) Eberstein; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant daughter, Amy Ponzini.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 11:00 am at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 with interment immediately following in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Paw Paw, MI. Visitation will take place Monday, November 13, 2023 from 5-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial donations in memory of Angeline, may be made to the SPCA of Southwest Michigan.
