of Paw Paw, MI Earned her angel wings Friday, October 19, 2012 at Bronson Hospital. Age 47 years. She was born August 1, 1965 in Lansing, MI, the daughter of the late Frank and Jacqueline Brown Whitaker. She was later adopted by David Earl Leon Hawkins, Sr.
â?¨ Angel loved to make a house a home, cooking and decorating were a passion for her. She also enjoyed riding on a Harley-Davidson to campgrounds and events, spoiling her grandchildren, and crafting and sewing. She was very involved in the Deaf community and made friends quickly and kept them for years.â?¨ Surviving are her husband, Gerald C. Wert Jr. of Paw Paw; one son and two daughters, Micheal Chandler of Kalkaska, Diamond Chandler of Paw Paw, and Angie Reck of Paw Paw; seven grandchildren, and a brother and sister, John Lori Hawkins of Holt and Davelle Hawkins of Holt. An Uncle Asa "Butch" Halsted Jr., of Mason, an aunt Betty Jo Halsted and cousin Ronda Osterberg both of Cadillac. A celebration of the life Angel lived will be held on Nov. 18th in Lansing, MI. Friends and family are invited to share the stories she can no longer tell. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Gerald C. Wert Jr., 43632 W. Red Arrow Hwy, Paw Paw MI 49079.
