HINSON, Andy G.
of Kalamazoo, MI Passed away June 8, 2009 at his home. He was born June 15, 1927 in Hohenwald, TN to the late Elihue and Bonnie O'Neal Hinson. Andy was united in marriage on December 28, 1945 to the former Lennie Perry, who survives. Andy served in the U.S. Army from August of 1945 until honorably discharged in March of 1947. He retired from GM after 36 years. He was a member of Portage Church of Christ. He supported and worked at Beechwood Hills Christian Youth Camp to help plant the seed for Christ, in young lives. Also surviving Andy are his children, Howard Dianna Hinson of FL, Sandra Cliff Copass of WI, Linda Rick Wadsworth of MI, Thomas Hinson of MI, Mary Ann Rose of NM, Robert Cindy Hinson of MI, Bonnie Randy Brown of CA, Wanda Arbuckle of MI, Andy G. Valerie Hinson of AZ, Richard Hinson of TN, Larry Jen Hinson of TX and; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Hicks and Virginia Berry; several nieces and nephews. Also preceding Andy in death were; his grandsons, Michael and Richard; brother, Franklin Hinson. A visitation will be on Thursday, 4-8:00pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where services will take place, Friday at 12:30. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with military honors. Memorials may be directed to the Portage Church of Christ or to Beechwood Hills Camp, Hopkins, MI.
