SMITH, Amie L.
of Portage, Michigan Passed away suddenly, August 19, 2013. A lifelong Kalamazoo resident, Amie was born October 24, 1981, to Patrick McDonald and Karen VandeStreek both survive. Amie was best known for her sense of humor, fiery spirit, and the love she gave to her family. Her creativity was unsurpassed and she was always talking about what craft she wanted to tackle next. Her proudest moments involved cheering her son Nickolas on at the football field and being a wonderful mother to her spirited young daughter Cierra both survive. Also surviving is her husband, Nick Smith, of over 13 years; sister, Amanda Mat Schlotterback; nephew, Jacob Schlotterback; countless friends, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411. E. Centre. Private interment will be held at a later date.
