Of Bloomingdale, MI Died Sunday morning, January 27, 2013. Amelia Millie to all who knew her was born May 12, 1918, in Shelbyville, MI, the firstborn daughter of Johanna and Michael Chlebana. She became a resident of Kalamazoo, MI following her marriage on November 26, 1937, to Donald S. Peck, who preceded her in death on August 19, 1994, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Gerald Donovan, and son-in-law, Douglas Sue Ann Ashbaugh. Millie will be remembered for her energy and determination, qualities that she demonstrated throughout her entire life. She found great joy in her family, and adored her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by grandchildren Scott Kimberly Ashbaugh, Rick Margie Ashbaugh, Robert Leslie Ashbaugh, Vicki Mark Osinski, Mindy Gordon Donovan Andrews, and Sean Nicole Donovan, and great-grandchildren Michael and Samantha Ashbaugh, Rachel, Heather, and Steven Ashbaugh, Tyler and Adam Ashbaugh, Ian and Mia Andrews, Sidney and Ryan Osinski, and Lily, Anna, and Brady Donovan. Also surviving are Millie's brothers and sisters, Joseph Chlebana, Julie Dodds, Ann Irwin Doublestein, Andrew Elizabeth Chlebana, and Eleanor Henry Banas, and sisters-in-law Marguerite Funghi, Dorothy Philip Edie, and Rosemary Robert Stickney. Preceding her in death were her daughter, Shirley Ashbaugh, and brothers, Charles Chlebana, Alex Chlebana, and Michael Chlebana. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. Rev. Mary Beth Sarhatt will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
