Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in Kalamazoo. She was born on April 12, 1921 in Piggott, AR, the daughter of Cora and Albert Trailer. She was the loving wife of William Kneir for 63 years. She was formerly from Battle Creek, MI. Kay took care of many children and was fondly known for her famous Cowboy Cookies. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, an infant daughter, Christine, one sister and three brothers. Kay is survived by her children, Betty Thomas of Kalamazoo, William Kneir of Las Vegas and Tom Nadine Kneir of Chicago; 5 grandchildren, Shelly, Ray Cindy, Amy, Eric and Christopher Cindy; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 12:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with Rev. Theda McBryde, officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, beginning at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
