BAU, Alroy W.
Of Kalamazoo, MI Alroy passed away Tuesday morning, November 24, 2009. He was born May 22, 1921 in Dundee, IL, the son of Alvin and Vera Melahn Bau. On March 11, 1944, Alroy was united in marriage to Margaret E. Fleury. He was employed by Illinois Tool Works for over 40 years until his retirement, and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Alroy was a real handyman and was always the first in line to help anyone with a project. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Margaret Bau; son, Alan Brenda Bau of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren, Michael Andrea Bau of Kalamazoo, Jason Cathy Bau of Charlotte, Kim Walker of Elton, KY, and Wendy Mason Tudor of Murray, KY; eight great-grandchildren, Adam, Matthew, Emma, Dominic, Elli, Kayla, Kourtney, and Carter; sister, Elaine Gerhard Drews of Elgin, IL; and son-in-law, Larry Threlkel. Preceding him in death were his parents; and daughter, Patricia Threlkel. Funeral services for Alroy will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3000 W. Main Street, with Pastor David H. Sidwell officiating. Interment will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM on Friday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street.
