Alida J. Boekhoven

BOEKHOVEN, Alida J.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Thursday morning, March 6, 2014. Alida was born October 15, 1928 in Den Helder, The Netherlands to the late Berend and Evera Regter Thijssen. She was a member of Comstock Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed spending time with her family. On April 8, 1953 she was united in marriage to Dr. Henry Boekhoven who preceded her in death on November 18, 2002. She is survived by her children, Len Kim Boekhoven, Barb Brad Vermeer; 9 grandchildren, Belinda Nathan, Brandon Beth, Brooke Russ, Bethany, Carson Pia, Camron Casey, Calvin Anna, Carlton Kelsey, and Cosette; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Rene Jacqueline Thijssen; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00am Monday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick with Pastor Rick Green officiating. Interment will follow in East Cooper Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Monday from 10:00 until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, or Loaves and Fishes.
