Of Schoolcraft Alice died peacefully Wednesday evening, February 23, 2011 at Kairos Dwelling. She was born on July 23, 1926 in Schoolcraft, the daughter of Albert E. and Florence Hazel Weaver Reish. Alice was a life long resident of Schoolcraft. She was employed by Dutch Treat Bakeries, Arco Industries Corp. and Valley Plastics until her retirement win 1991. After retirement, Alice attended the Schoolcraft Village Council meetings regularly. She enjoyed sewing and made many of her own clothes. Preceding her in death were her husband, Douglas Pierce in 1977; parents; 2 sisters, Alberta Reish and Minnie Frank; 2 brothers, Ronald "Bud" Reish and James Reish. Surviving are sister-in-law, Frances Reish of Kalamazoo; 3 nieces, Kay Trevor Jones of Northport, MI, Rebecca Jason Lautar of Boca Raton, FL, and Karen Reish of Nashville, TN; special nephew and niece, David and Carol Frank of Schoolcraft and their children, James Sara, Jerald Chris, Debra, Mike Mary, and Jason Nicole; 3 great-great nephews; and 5 great-great nieces. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday tomorrow at Schoolcraft Cemetery US 131 at Lyons St., Schoolcraft with Rev. Victor Downing officiating. There will be no visitation.
