LANDER, Alice Van Dyke
of Scotts, Michigan Passed away March 4, 2008 at Tendercare Portage. She was born October 2, 1927 in Kalamazoo to the late Herbert and Alice Courtney Van Dyke. She was happily married to Neil Lander for 62 years, who survives. Alice was a member of the Centre Avenue Community Church of God. She loved her family, enjoyed her travel films, socializing with her friends and she loved to cook. She was employed with Upjohn for over 30 years before retiring. Also surviving Alice are, her son, Neil H. Karen Lander of Kingwood, TX; grandchildren, Debbie Vaughn and Daniel Lander; great granddaughter, Cassidy Vaughn; brother, Ken Mary Van Dyke, nieces, including her special niece, Kathy Armintrout. Preceding her in death was a son, Terry Lander; sisters, Marjorie Lewis and ClaraMae Shafer. Services for Alice will be Saturday the 8th , 11:00am at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave., Portage. Visitation will take place on Friday, the 8th from 5-8:00pm, Portage Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Centre Avenue Community Church of God or Hospice of South West Michigan.
