VOSS, Albert Jr.
Of Kalamazoo Al went to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning, April 20, 2010 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo. He was born May 28, 1929 in Kalamazoo, the son of Albert Sr. and Johanna Nakken Voss. Al was a veteran of the United States Army serving three years during the Korean War. On August 14, 1953, he was united in marriage to Ilene Groenheide. Al was employed by Eaton Corp. for 24 years until his retirement in 1982. He was a lifetime member of Third Christian Reformed Church. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ilene Voss; their two children, Debra Daniel Woltersom and Cheryl Kevin Kloosterman both of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Jared, Rachel and Kaitlyn; one brother, Gale Pat Voss of Schoolcraft; one sister-in-law, Henrietta Voss of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, and two brothers, John Preston Voss and Sherman Voss. Funeral services for Al will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at Third Christian Reformed Church, 2400 Winchell Avenue, with Rev. Margaret J. Jenista officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Interment will be at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
