One of his friends recently said "Al was a friend to everyone". He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Derrick Crandle; sons, Jeffrey Laura Crandle and Darren Chris Crandle; sister, Grace John Atchinson; sister-in-law, Bonnie Tony Palazzolo; eight grandchildren, Chelsea, Lindsey, Joshua, Lucas, Evan, Lauren, Hannah and Emma Crandle.
