ANDRUS, Mr. Albert G.
Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Wednesday morning October 8, 2008 at his residence. Albert was born January 19, 1921 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Leon and Ruth Owens Andrus. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Navy. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and employed with Michigan Bell for 34 years, retiring in 1982. He was also a member of the Bell Pioneers Club and V.F.W. Post #827. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Owen and Roy Andrus; and a step son, William Tomlinson. On September 17, 1977, he was united in marriage to Ruth C. Fahling-Tomlinson Andrus who survives. Also surviving, 2 children, James Debbie Andrus of Pinellas Park, FL and Jane Art Markle of Plainwell; a step daughter, Barbara Wright; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Monday, October 20th at Lutheran Church of the Savior, 3616 East G Ave. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be directed to the Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Program or the Lutheran Church of the Savior.
