Of Kalamazoo Agatha passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, Feb. 5, 2011 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Agatha was born Sept. 26, 1924 to Gerhardus and Elizabeth VanBoven VanWalbeck. On August 1, 1945 she was united in marriage to Henry Kuiper, III, who survives her. She is also survived by her children Tom Eleanor Kuiper and Jim Kuiper of Portage and Mary Ken Visscher of Zionsville, IN, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Agatha was the oldest of six children, surviving are her siblings Joanne Schuring of Portage, Gerard Carol VanWalbeck of Ocala, FL; Fred VanWalbeck of Portage, Marie Johnson of Wyoming, MI and Claudia William Alphenaar of Grand Haven, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law Claude Schuring, sister-in-law Sharon VanWalbeck and son Dennis on May 24, 2010. Agatha was an active member of Portage Christian Reformed Church for several years before joining the Texas Corners Bible Church. You can visit with the family on Friday, Feb. 11th, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Agie's life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12th, at 2pm at Park Village Pines, 2920 Crystal Lane, with friend Pastor John Hill, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of SW Michigan, Park Village Pines or Texas Corners Bible Church.
