CORSTANGE, Adrian
Of Kalamazoo Went home to be with his Lord, Monday morning December 10, 2007. Adrian was born September 21, 1917 in Muskegon, Michigan, the son of William and Jennie Walhout Corstange and has been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1921. During WW II from 1942-45, he served in the U.S. Army. For over 30 years he was employed with The Upjohn Company, from which he retired. Adrian was a former active member of the Trinity Reformed Church where he had served as deacon, elder and Sunday School teacher and was currently attending Flowerfield Baptist Church. Throughout the years he was very active in the jail ministry and was also known to support many worthy ministries. Adrian was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed by all. On August 16, 1940, he was united in marriage to the former Dena DeHaan who preceded him in death on December 31, 1992. He was also preceded by his second wife, Nellie VandeGiessen Corstange in 1994; by brothers, Peter, Jacob, William and twin John Corstange; sisters, Dorothy Nord, Nellie VanderMeer and Marie Crist. Surviving are his current wife, Anna Welch Corstange of Kalamazoo; two sons, Duane Jackie Corstange of Kalamazoo and Dave Karen Corstange of Paw Paw; grandchildren, Steven Tracy Corstange, Kris Robert Taylor, Erin Corstange, Mark Corstange and fiancé Ashley Gardner, Emily Steve Agnello, Jonathan Corstange, Jennifer Jack Smith and Tracy Schiedel; great-grandchildren, Tanner and Morgan Corstange, Blake Taylor, Emerson and Charlotte Agnello and Joshua, Jacob and Kaitlyn Smith; brothers and sisters, Teressa Johnson of Kalamazoo, Jeanette Dirkse of Kalamazoo, Betty Andrew Smith of Kalamazoo, Donald Dena Corstange of Kalamazoo; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, where Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday with Pastor Marvin Followell officiating. A private interment will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials in Adrian?s memory may be directed to the Forgotten Man Ministries, or Hospice Care of SW Michigan. 343-1508 www.langelands.com
