Abraham DeVisser

DeVISSER, Abraham Kalamazoo Mr. DeVisser passed away Sunday evening, March 4, 2007 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born August 29, 1926 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Jozias and Katherine VanGermart DeVisser. Abe was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Congregation. Mr. DeVisser was employed by Charles River Breeding Laboratory for 23 years until his retirement. On May 1, 1953, he was united in marriage to Jessie Brouwer in Kalamazoo, who preceded him in death on December 23, 2006. Also preceding him in death are a brother, Adrian DeVisser and a sister, Dena Beeke. Surviving are two children, Kenneth Ann DeVisser and Susan Ritch Harrison; four grandchildren, Lisa and Michael DeVisser, Jessica and Hadley Harrison; one brother, Henry Agnes DeVisser and a sister, Marie Kiewiet, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. DeVisser will be at 2:30 PM on Wednesday tomorrow at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with Rev. Cornelis Vogelaar officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 PM on Tuesday today and tomorrow from 12:00 PM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Providence Christian School and Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
