CORSTANGE, A. Robert
Kalamazoo Passed away July 27, 2007. A lifelong resident of Kalamazoo, Robert was born March 12, 1910, the son of Arnold C. and Lotta B. Showerman. As a young man, he earned the Eagle Scout award and he continued his interest in scouting, serving three terms as president of the local Boy Scouts of America. He earned the ?Silver Beaver Award? from the Boy Scouts and the ?Thanks Badge? from the Girl Scouts of America. Robert was also a life member of the Kalamazoo Board of Realtors and the Society of Real Estate Appraisers. He retired in 1970 as Senior Vice President of the First National Bank, now National City. Robert was a member of the Kalamazoo City Planning Commission where he had served as Secretary/Treasurer and was active on the Downtown Planning Committee that was instrumental in creating the Downtown Kalamazoo Mall. Surviving are a son Bruce R. Corstange and a daughter Anne Stanley E. Rulapaugh, all of Phoenix, AZ; 2 grandchildren, Brian Rulapaugh of SanFrancisco, CA and Karen J. F. Pandrok of Mesa, AZ. There will be no visitation or services. Memorial contributions in Robert?s memory may be made to a local Girl or Boy Scout Council, Kalamazoo Senior Services or a Kalamazoo charity of your choice.
