Wilma Jean (McDaniel) Wiers

Passed away Monday morning, May 17, 2021 at Kairos Dwelling after a long illness. Jean was born November 20, 1932 in Battle Creek, MI the daughter of Paul L. and Alice M. (Louden) McDaniel. She had been a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. She enjoyed volleyball, oil painting, golf, bowling and music. Jean was also a volunteer for area handicapped organizations. Jean was very social and cherished spending time with family and friends and was loved by many. On May 20, 1949 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Donald A. Wiers who preceded her in death on March 27, 1994. Jean was also preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Fox; and sisters, Lois Sutton, and Louise Sturgis. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Bainbridge (Gerald Meeker), Brenda (James) Fox; grandchildren, Jodi (Tammy) Bainbridge, Jason Bainbridge, Jaime (Eric) Weenink; great grandchildren, Douglas (Cassandra) Bainbridge, Sarah Bainbridge, Piper and Colton Weenink, and two great-great grandchildren, Addison and Grayson Bainbridge; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may meet the family from 6-8pm Thursday, May 20 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 622 S. Burdick, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Private services will be held Friday with interment in Riverside Cemetery in Kalamazoo. Memorials may be directed to Kairos Dwelling.
