Went peacefully to be with her Lord Tuesday morning, February 9, 2016. Wilma was born February 16, 1933 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Wubbo and Catharina Schipper. Wilma was an active lifetime member of Grace Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed volunteering at church and with the Kalamazoo Christian Schools. On November 11, 1955 she was united in marriage to her loving husband Howard, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Jim (Mary) Koning, Jenny (Bernie) Scheffers, Catherine (Jim) Meeuwse; 9 grandchildren, Ryan (Kaitlin) Koning, Heather (Michael) Paas, Stacey Koning, Lindsey (Nick) Muller, Matt (Liz) Scheffers, Kelly Montague, Holly Laird, Eric Meeuwse, and Megan Meeuwse; sisters, Jean (Herm) Visker, Marilyn (Bob) Musselman, Carol Schipper; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother, Rena Penny and Chris Schipper. Services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, February 13 at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 1724 Whites Rd with Pastor Greg Timmer officiating. Friends may meet the family from 6-8pm Friday evening, February 12 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre and Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service at the church. Private interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Christian School Association or Grace Christian Reformed Church.
