Victoria (Vicki), age 73, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2019, at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born December 14, 1945 in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of Elmer and Helen (Schooler) Boss.
As a child she moved to Zeeland, Michigan where she spent her teenage years and subsequently earned a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University. Vicki spent the early years of her career teaching in the Kalamazoo area before embarking on a long career with Tri-County Head Start. She spent 30 years teaching and developing young children; helping to change lives and supporting families as they worked to improve their situations.
Vicki was blessed to be able to be very involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. Her older grandchildren, Brandon and Ally each had their own unique relationship with their her that grew as they got older. Her most recent joy was the newest member of the family, her 3-year old grandchild, Jacob.
Vicki enjoyed spending time with her many friends and the peacefulness of spending time coloring. She had a very unique sense of humor and enjoyed making her family and friends laugh.
Vicki loved her church and developed many close friends and a supportive church family; she rarely missed a Sunday service. She became very intentional about her spiritual growth and enjoyed Bible study groups and time alone studying. She continued developing her relationship with God, where she drew great strength and peace.
In addition to her son, and two grandsons, the other man in her life was Kid Rock. She was a huge fan, attending many concerts over the years. Her grandchildren even called her "Grandma Rock" and her "Born Free" tattoo symbolized her spirit. You could ask anyone that knew her, and they would tell you that Vicki loved God and the USA.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Bob) Parks, Rob Peplinski; 3 grandchildren, Brandon and Ally Parks, Jacob Peplinski; and siblings Kathy (Paul) Turner, Jim (Sharon) Boss; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Vicki's life will be held on Friday May 10, 2019 at Freshwater Community Church, 600 E. Michigan Ave. in Paw Paw. There will be a 10:00 AM visitation, with a service at 11:00 AM and a luncheon to follow. A private interment will be held at a later date.
