WHIPPLE, Thomas J.
Kalamazoo Passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014. Thomas was born January 16, 1933 in Kalamazoo, the son of John and Alta Allen Whipple and was a lifelong resident of the area. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp., and worked for Union Camp as a pallitizer operator for 22 years. On January 8, 1954, he married Marlene Mieke, who survives. He is also survived by their children, Thomas C. Whipple of Kalamazoo, Michael Steven Terri Whipple of Paw Paw, Teresa Whipple Barry Clayton of Palm Springs, CA., David P. Lisa Whipple of Hartford, MI., Michelle Whipple of Grand Rapids, MI and Kenneth Whipple of Portage; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Norma Boze of Delton; a brother, Dale Whipple of FL., nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 18, in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. Interment will follow in Genesee Prairie Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
