Thomas Albert Dinse

Thomas Albert Dinse, age 82, of Portage, passed away October 27, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. He was born November 5, 1938 in Bertrand Township, Michigan and raised by the late Albert and Evelyn (Plath) Dinse.

Tom served honorably in the United States Marine Corps before returning home to work for the Michigan Department of Transportation until his retirement. He also served 13 years with the Kalamazoo Township Fire Department, Northwood. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, and softball.

Tom was preceded in death by his biological mother, Harriett Littrell; adoptive parents, Albert and Evelyn Dinse; and sister, Sharon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Caroline (Ross) Dinse; sons, Roger (Tonya Brown) Dinse, Richard (Robyn) Dinse, and George "Fudd" Anderson; grandchildren, TC (Adrianne) Dinse, Troy (Kelly) Dinse, Travis (Devone) Dinse, Zach (Lani) Dinse, and Kaitlyn (Kaitlyn) Debusk; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Easton, Bennett, Carter, and Anyah; sister, Donna Rickers; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 11:00am at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002, where family will greet friends one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00am. Interment in Ft. Custer National Cemetery with military honors will follow at 1:00pm. Please arrive by 12:45 if you are unable to attend the service. The family will have a time of food and fellowship following interment at the Portage/Schoolcraft Eagles Aerie 3531, 11611 Shaver Rd, Schoolcraft, MI 49087 beginning at 2:00pm.
