Terry D. Preston, age 73, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015, in Novi, MI. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI on April 15, 1942 a son of Harry and Jean (VanSweden) Preston. Terry graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School where he lettered in basketball and baseball. He became a journeyman plumber and worked for Wheeler Blaney and R.W. LaPine until he retired. Terry was an active part of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada for over 30 years. He moved to Brighton a couple of years ago to be closer to his family. Terry was a huge Michigan State Spartans and Detroit Tigers fan and also enjoyed fishing and playing golf. Terry is survived by two children, Debi Preston-Jarvis of Ocean Ridge, FL and Steve Preston of Brighton, MI; three grandchildren, Stephen, Carly and Ross Preston; two brothers, David & Marcia Preston and Jeff Preston all of Kalamazoo; and a nephew, Tyler Preston. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, January 8th and 10-11:45am on Saturday, January 9th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, where services will be held at 12:00 noon. Interment in South Portage Cemetery will follow.
