Terry Miles Knauss

Passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 13, 2022 at his home. Terry was born August 28, 1955 in Kalamazoo the son of Durwood and Maedonna (Goldsmith) Knauss. Terry graduated from Portage Central High School in 1973. Terry always stayed busy from mowing lawns to delivering papers. While delivering papers he received an award 2 years in a row for paper boy of the year. Terry coached rocket football and his son's little league team. As Terry got older he enjoyed playing softball and was an avid bowler. During his 20 years at Georgia Pacific he was an active member in the union. Terry started as a union steward and worked his way up to union president until his retirement in 2010. Terry was proud to be a member of United Steelworkers Local 323. Terry is survived by his children, Scott Huff of Bloomingdale, Tiffany (Morgan) VanDyke of Kalamazoo, Dustin Knauss (Donna Sirrine) of Vicksburg, Michelle (C.J.) DePeal of Elsie.; His grandchildren are Kailee Huff, Brandon and Tyler VanDyke, Briann Knauss, Caitlin Wright, Chloe Visscher, Blake Truckey, and Jaxon DePeal ; His mother, Maedonna Knauss; sisters and brother, Susan (John) Martens, Pamela Peters, Timothy (April) Knauss; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is survived by his friend, and mother of his children Suzan Cherrone and his beloved and loyal dog Max. He was preceded in death by his father, Durwood Knauss. Friends may meet the family from 11:00am-1:00pm Wednesday, April 20 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 411 East Centre, Portage, MI 49002 where funeral services will follow at 1:00pm.
