Died Tuesday afternoon December 22, 2015. Sybil was born August 6, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of Arthur and Burnell (Kuhn) Ellis. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed with the Kalamazoo Public Schools for over 30 years before retiring. Sybil was also a member of Westwood United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Phillip L. Parker on December 15, 2012; a son, Robert Parker on December 16, 2012; a sister, Ellen; and a brother, Arthur. Sybil is survived by 3 children, Ellen (John) Griffith of Parchment, Phillip (Diane) Parker of Bayfield, CO, and Ronald (Deb) Parker of Eugene, OR; a daughter-in-law, Maria Parker of San Diego; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Private services and burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to Kairos Dwelling, Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes, or the Westwood United Methodist Church.
