Stafford passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the age of 86. He was born August 9, 1929 in Lynchburg, VA to the late Reuben and Princess (Sowers) Thomas. Stafford was united in marriage to Susan Miller in 1964, who survives. Stafford is survived by his wife, Susan Thomas; children, Virginia (Paul) Jackson and Alan (Kathy) Thomas. The family will greet friends on Saturday, December 5th from 1-3 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave., where a funeral service will begin at 3 pm. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or University of Illinois Foundation.
