Shirley J. Gjukis

Shirley J. Gjukis, age 94, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 at Dublin Methodist Hospital in Dublin, OH. Born October 21, 1920 in Marshall, MI to the late Charles and Margaret Joy Rose. Also preceded in death by siblings, Carol Polischuck, Gene Simmons, Thomas Joslyn, Lowell Joslyn; and spouses Dwight Brackett and James Gjukis. Survived by sons Joe (Sharon) of London, Ohio and Jeff (Nena) Brackett of Miami, Florida; grandchildren, Bill (Christina), Dan (Kasha), Alan (Heather), and Justin Brackett; great grandchildren, Evie, Amelia, Eli, Jack and Timmy; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Graduated Lakeview High School, class of 1937, and from Argubright Business College. In 1947, she started her credit union career at Kellogg Credit Union, Battle Creek, Michigan. 1955 saw her moving to Columbus, Ohio where her credit union work included the Ohio Credit Union League, and Telhio Credit Union, from where she retired as office manager in 1986. Friends may call Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH. Additional visitation will be 10 A.M. until start of funeral service at 11 A.M. Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 205 E. Maple St. in Climax, MI. Interment Beckley Cemetery, Battle Creek, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Easter Seals, P.O. Box 361380 Columbus, OH 43236.
