Robert Louis Silberman

Bob Silberman died peacefully at Woodside (Friendship Village) on March 2, 2020 at the age of 91. Bob is survived by his children Joellen, Marilou (Mark), Lisa (Lance) and Jean (Tom), and 3 grandchildren. Bob was born in Chicago, IL on May 23, 1928 to Charles and Beatrice (Wolf) Silberman, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Josephine Silberman, and his brother, Thomas A. Silberman. Bob was a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a major in Mechanical Engineering, and later earned an MBA from The University of Chicago. He served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers from 1948 to 1949, and remained in the Army Reserves until the family made a short-term move to Canada in 1960. Bob loved his wife with all his heart. He also loved his family, cookies, candy, computer programming, electronic devices, sports cars, jokes and dancing. A private memorial service will occur later this year. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Employee Appreciation Fund at Friendship Village Kalamazoo.
