Robert A Palmatier

PALMATIER, Mr. Robert A.
Portage, MI Died Friday afternoon April 29, 2011. Robert was born July 22, 1926 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Karl and Cecil Chase Palmatier. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army. Robert had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Western Michigan University for 45 years, retiring in 1991. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Marion Palmatier on July 10, 1991. In November of 2001, he was united in marriage to Mary H. Fugh-Russell Palmatier who survives. Also surviving, 5 children, David Linda Palmatier of Portage, Denise Palmatier, Sararetha Richey of Chattanooga, TN, Anthony Chaney of Michigan, and Cedric Russell of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren, Justin, Daniel, and Kelly; several step grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Liam; a brother, Malcomb Palmatier of Santa Monica, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
