Went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday evening, January 25, 2021 at his home. Bob was born June 21, 1932 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Lexor and Wilma (Wheeler) Nevins. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 in Germany during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement he was employed for several years with ABF Freight Systems as a driver. After retirement he worked at the Gilmore Car Museum for several years. Bob was an active member of Pathfinder Church, where he went on 3 youth trips and did other various volunteering. He also volunteered for the American Red Cross, and the Salvation Army which both reflected his concern for others. Bob loved his Friday golf days, traveling, building things with wood, fishing, and spending the summer at the cottage. Bob and Sandy also enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona for the past 25 years. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Don Nevins; sister, Gwen Brown; and step-son, Jeffrey Teachout; sister and brothers-in-law, Sharon Eckelbecker, Douglas Adams, and Hank Tuin. On July 1, 1982 Bob was united in marriage to Sandra L. (Adams) Teachout, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Lexanne (Larry) Mastenbrook, Jeffrey Nevins; step-children, James (Beth) Teachout, Debra (Frank) Jew; grandchildren, Dr. Joshua Mastenbrook, Ashton Mastenbrook, Jenna Teachout (Seth Wilton), Dr. Jordan (Dr. Ryan) Carrier, Christopher and Bryanna Jew; great grandchildren, Marlyn, and D'Artagnan; his brother and sisters, George (Sue) Nevins, Marilyn Hardy, Carolyn (Harv) Gort, Nona Brown; sister and brothers-in-law, Jean (Terry) Wolthuis, William Tuin, and Robert Tuin; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jim and Sharon Friel. Private graveside services will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
