Passed away Thursday April 19, 2018 at his home. Kevin was born February 2, 1962 in Kalamazoo the son of Richard and Ruth (Hughes) Thornton and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and spending time with his family. Kevin is survived by his sons, Andrew (Amanda) Thornton, Tyler Thornton; his mother, Ruth Thornton; sisters and brothers, Teresa (Ron) Spruill, Leeann (Dwight) Spiegelberg, Kathleen (David) Blank, Tim Thornton, Deborah (Ron) Kirshman, Lisa Thornton, Jackie Middlebrooks, Dan Thornton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Thornton in 2003. A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4pm Monday, April 23 at Continental Lanes, 3645 Vanrick Dr. All are welcome to join Ruth at the 12:10pm Mass on Monday, April 23 at St. Augustine Cathedral, 600 W. Michigan Ave. Private interment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes.
