Passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the age of 53 as a result of an auto accident. She was born September 29, 1962 in Plainwell, to the late Alan and Norma (Walker) Simonds. Peggy was united in marriage to Steve Nichols on August 13, 2007. Peggy is survived by her husband, Steve Nichols; children, Daniel (Rebecca Coy) Matrau, Ashley Matrau, Crystal ((d) Emil Skokan III) Matrau-Belt and Brittany (Kelsey Baker) Matrau; grandchildren, Daniel, Jared, Jacob, Hailey, Alexander, Emma and Jeremiah; sisters, LeAnne Simonds and Rose (Terry) Cordell; mother-in-law, Rosemary Nichols; brothers/sisters-in-law, Kelly and Ronald Schneider and Jason and Teresa Nichols; and several nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Larry Nichols. The family will greet friends on Thursday, December 17th from 6-8 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where a funeral service will take place on Friday, December 18th at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow the service, at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Memorials in Peggy's name may be directed to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
