SPRINGER, Otis M., Jr.
of Winter Haven, FL
formerly of Kalamazoo Passed away July 19, 2011 at Winter Haven Hospital in Florida. He was born July 10, 1948 in Kalamazoo to Otis and Belva Kamps Springer, Sr. His father preceded him in death and his mother, Belva McKinney died the day following the death of Otis. He was united in marriage to Linda K. Honicutt in 1978, she survives. Otis was a proud member of Delton Moose Lodge # 1649, Kalamazoo Fraternal Order of Eagles #526 and Comstock VFW #6252. Also surviving Otis are his children, Jerrie Willie Springer of Kalamazoo, Mark Jackie Gregg of Portage and Chad Gregg of Comstock; 4 grandchildren, Kayla, Zack, Brandon and Ryan; one great grandson, baby Ryan; sisters, Peggy, Shirley Ron, Lillian Clyde, Lylia, Shelly and Louise Darrell; brothers, Lyle, Jr. Pat and Raymond Springer. Also preceding Otis in death was a son, Jeff Springer and a sister, Sandy Hoffman. A social gathering with family and friends will take place on Thursday from 12-1 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Hwy. Interment will follow at East Cooper Cemetery. Following the committal service, a memorial luncheon in honor of Otis and his mother, Belva, will be held at the Comstock VFW Post 6252. Memorials may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation.
